Cecot Center to Comemorate World Malaria Day on 25th April 2015 at Kibyayi Village, Uganda ( Please Support us)

 Background

The Malaria Program Performance Review (MPR) for the period 2000 – 2010 conducted by the Ministry of Health and released in May 2011, recorded malaria epidemic to be on the increase from 28% in 2001 to a national average of 45% in 2010, this explains why Malaria is still the leading cause of illness and death in the Uganda. According to the current ongoing research, children between 6 -15 years bear the highest malaria burden. The research is showing that age bracket does not show any malaria symptoms, when actually the children have malaria, they can only be detected when they tested for malaria!! Yet over 50% of Uganda's population is made up of young people. This is a big problem
In light of the above, Center for Community Transformation (CECOT CENTER) is to organize a Malaria Day at Kibyayi Village, Mubende District on 25th April 2015.   Our Theme will be “Let’s Unite to defeat Malaria in Children”. Locally translated “Twegatte Tulwanyise Omusujja mu Baana” The main objective is to educate the community on malaria prevention and treatment.
Activities will include; conducting Health Talks on Malaria in schools and filming effects of Malaria to human beings testing and diagnosing pregnant women and children up 15 years and distribution of mosquito nets.
